Journey of the masks - end of part 1

THE JOURNEY OF THE MASKS !

So.. it's getting close to the end of part one of the project " Journey of the masks". The journey that has brought the masks around Sweden, Norway and also a trip to the Faeroic Islands. The masks has been visiting dancers, actors, composers, and visual artists. The stories created on there trip is incredible. The last residence is with the Skanes Dance theatre , and the last show inspired by this masks are on Sunday the 21:st of February in Lund, Sweden. See www.skanesdansteater.se - for more info.

BUT !!!! The journey will continue... perhaps it will become a world tour now--As it looks they will be entering USA in March, for how long I don't know yet. So the stories will continue on www.masktales.blogspot.com ....

Tita Grå - Västanå teater

I gamla muntligt berättade historier från Värmland finns det en kvinnogestalt som väcker både nyfikenhet och förskräckelse. Hon bär det sagoklingande namnet Tita Grå och fruktas av folket för sin elakhet och slughet. I tre skrönor tampas hon med Den Onde själv och gissa vem som går segrande ur striden? I vår nya föreställning har vi vävt ihop dessa historier till en berättelse, fylld av levnadsvisdom, humor, och drastisk dramatik. Efter succén med berättarföreställningen Måns Rödskägg har Västanå Teater nu återigen grävt djupt i den värmländska myllan. Där finns en outtömlig magisk fantasivärld som lockar till både skratt och eftertanke, berättelser som bara ligger där och väntar på att bli upptäckta på nytt. Tita Grå finns som sagomotiv i flera delar av Sverige och är även ett motiv i den internationella sagotraditionen. Den tidigaste kända varianten av sagan har spårats till Indien för 2000 år sedan. "Tita Grå - hon som var värre än Den Onde" berättas i vår version av två skådespelare och en musiker.

Exhibition of jewellery

Saturday 28th of November opens an exhibition of jewellery at Mimers Hus in Kungalv.

Welcome ! The exhibition presents several different artists working in different materials, such as silver and glass. Come and see the work of Torbjorn Alstrom in black oak and silver !
